“Captain America” takes second place in summer superhero sweepstakes

Man, we got overdosed on superhero movies this past summer, didn’t we. There were the obvious ones: the three from Marvel Studios and the one from DC. There were also “ Transformers ,” “Cowboys and Aliens,” “Kung Fu Panda,” “Cars,” “Pirates of... Schmidt is the leader of a weapons research group called Hydra, and he plans to use the tesseract to power his new sophisticated weapons. X-Men: First Class Captain America: The First Avenger Thor Green Lantern I’ve already reviewed the other three. here’s why I rate “Captain America” at number two: It has a humble protagonist who does get some help to become super, but it stays fairly well grounded within the rules of a superhero movie and its timeframe.
